When is Ganesh Chaturthi?

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the religious festivals of India. Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated from 13th September to 23rd September 2018. Ganesh Chaturthi is a 10-day festival.

Madhyahna Ganesha Puja Time = 11:09 to 13:35
Duration = 2 Hours 26 Mins
On 12th, Time to Avoid Moon Sighting = 16:07 to 20:42
Duration = 4 Hours 35 Mins
On 13th, Time to Avoid Moon Sighting = 09:33 to 21:23
Duration = 11 Hours 50 Mins
Chaturthi Tithi begins on 12th September 2018 at 16:07 and ends on 12september 2018 at 14:51
Ganesh sthapna (Installation of the idol) can be done at shubh time between 06:29 to 08:00 or Labh time i.e. between 12:34 to 14:06.
Ganesh pooja is preferred during Madhyanhana i.e. between 14:06 and 15:37 

 

How is Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrated? 

In 2018 Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on September 13. This festival lasts for 11 Days. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm in mostly in states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh. The preparation of the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi starts a month before. Many artists from all over India start Making Lord Ganesh Idol a month before the festival. They create a wide variety of Ganesha Idols. In all over Maharashtra People from every locality Celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi enthusiastically. All the people in a particular locality prepare the Pandal and Bring the Great idol of Lord Ganesh to workship. Many different types of events are organized by them. Aarti is performed by Pandit ji as well as by common people every day and Prasad is given to everyone. Devotes offer a variety of things to god including coconut, modak, jaggery, durva grass, flowers, red flowers garland, etc. Devotees apply the paste of kumkum and sandalwood all through the body of the statue. During this 11 day festival, all the people enjoy a lot.
